Why we exist
Small and mid-sized businesses are surrounded by AI hype on one side and AI fear on the other. Most have tried a few tools, seen little beyond generated text and images, and quietly concluded the whole thing is oversold.
Meanwhile those same businesses are carrying exactly the kind of manual, repetitive, error-prone work that well-built automation genuinely transforms. They are too small to hire their own AI specialists, and the firms selling to them mostly compete on noise.
Ossum Solutions exists to close that gap without asking the business owner to take the risk. We assess the operation, agree on the metrics that matter, build only what moves them, and take our fee out of the result.
Who you will be working with
Ossum Inc. was founded by Reid Spencer, a software architect and engineer with more than forty years of experience. He is the creator of the open-source RIDDL modeling language, a long-time contributor to the LLVM compiler project, and a former Vice President of Technology. He has made Norfolk his home since 2013.
That matters here for a practical reason. Engagements are delivered personally by a senior architect rather than handed to junior staff or an offshore team, which is what makes it possible to promise an outcome instead of a number of hours.
How we relate to Ossum Inc.
Ossum Solutions is the services practice of Ossum Inc. Our sister practice at ossum.ai builds the product line — including RIDDL, a language for describing business processes precisely enough that both people and machines can work from the same description.
That connection is deliberate. The modeling methods we use to understand your business are the same ones our own tooling is built around, which is part of how a single architect can deliver work that would normally need a team.
Where we work
Ossum Inc. is a Virginia corporation headquartered in Norfolk. Our focus at launch is home-services businesses across the Tidewater region — HVAC first, then plumbing, electrical and related trades — followed by light manufacturing.
Ossum Inc. is a member of the Hampton Roads Chamber.
